Visit the Valley of the Kings, the necropolis of the Pharaonic New Kingdom, which includes the famous tombs of the kings of ancient Egypt. Your next stop will be the magnificent Temple of Hatshepsut, the first woman to rule Egypt. This temple was later used as a monastery during the Christian era, which is why it is famously known as “El Deir Al Bahry,” or the Western Monastery.

Your final stop of the day will be at the colossal Colossi of Memnon. These two statues, standing 18 meters high, are the only remaining remnants of the Temple of Amenhotep III. During the Roman era, music was said to emanate from one of the statues, which the Greeks attributed to Agamemnon, the Greek hero.
